E.J.'s Story
Life
I have been blessed with the opportunity to have many adventures in my life, the greatest of which is being a loving husband and father. I married Nichole in 1997 and we had Tre' in 2002 after many years of wedded bliss, we lost Nichole to cancer in 2021. I love my job and the community where we live. Mom, Pops and my sisters are all doing fine. My parents are still on Lake Lansing, but they snowbird now and my sisters live in GR, MI & Raleigh, NC..
Since H.S. graduation, to the surprise of most, I actually graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point, NY in 4yrs. I then spent 5yrs in the military stationed at Ft. Sill, OK, Camp Essayons, Korea, and Ft. Benning, GA. The majority of my time in the military was in the World Class Athlete Program, on the Army wrestling team. Where I got a chance to see the world, representing Team USA and the US Army. In 1996 I resigned my commission as Captain and started working for GM. I worked for GM for 10 yrs, in several plants in various capacities in both Flint, MI and Fredericksburg, VA. In 2005 I became operations manager for Android Industries in Atlanta, GA. I was also a launch manager for A-i, the SUV crossover facili...Expand for more
ty in Delta township, Mi was one such launch. In 2009 I took a job as the Business Process Improvement Manager for Evergreen PKG in Athens, GA and was soon promoted to Operations Manager. In 2016 I moved to the corporate office in Memphis, TN to become a project manager for our new product development team. It seems like every few years I change jobs and/or locations so who knows what will come next.
In 2018, I was honored to be inducted into the Greater Lansing Area Sports Hall of Fame. I was blessed to have a lot of family/friends/teammates/coaches there for that special day.
I enjoy family vacations, going back home to see friends and family and the occasional boys trip with old friends to fun locations. I volunteer my time to coach wrestlers when I get the chance. Since I moved to Memphis, I enjoy visiting local venues, fishing, tennis & raising Tre'.
I had so much fun at Sexton, I will always have found memories of J-Dubbs and all of the great people that made it feel like a privilege to be called a Big Red. I know that when I transferred there as a Junior, that it was one of the best decisions of my life. I wish all Sexton and Ottawa Hills alumni the best that life has to offer.
