Ed's Story
Life
Retail music business in Denver with Musicland, then Manager/Buyer for Independent Records and Big Apple Tapes & Records. Played drums in bands The Rotisseries, Leroy X & the X-citations, Szyzgy and did session work. Played Wallabi's, The Mercury Cafe, The Blue Note in Boulder, The Rainbow Music Hall, Ebbots Field, etc.
1982 moved to L.A. joined Wherehouse for 7 years as Asst. Vice President Special Products. Started driving NASCAR Stock Cars at Saugus Speedway.
In 1988, moved to Windsor, CA. joined Napa Valley Box Company as Director of Marketing / Natl. Sales Manager. 5th in points NOR-CAL "Best In The West" Series stock cars in 1990.
1991 returned to Boulder, Colorado as Natl. Sales Manager for Case Logic, selling music portable storage.
1992 founded Performance Sales & Marketing, a mfg. rep firm specializing in CE accessories.
1994 developed line for Coast Mfg. Co. called "NASCAR Gear" music/photo storage cases sold at Wal-Mart, Circuit City and Western Auto. 5th in points 1994 in "NOR-CAL Best in The West" Series, won "Star on The Rise" award, 4 race wins.
Sold firm in 1994. Joined Alpha Ent. Ran CE Accessories Division. Moved to Canton, Ohio.
1997 Fellowes Mfg. Co. acquired Alpha. Relocated to Chicago area. Ran CE Accessories Division.
1998 got sponsorship with Iomega to run in NASCAR Southwest Tour Series. Opened race shop in Santa Rosa, CA. Joined Memorex as Vice President Sales, Western Region.
Own Performance Sales and Marketing Inc and web site Pit Stop USA.com the leading retailer of circle track racing supplies. We have advertised nationally on FloRacing.com and previously in Circle Track, Stock Car Racing, Speedway Illustrated magazines and others.
10th in points SRL "Wild West Shootout" Late Model Series 2002. I love stock car racing, music, great movies, and in my "spare time" (like I really have any) like to ride ATV's ...Expand for more
and hang out with family. Still a big Denver Broncos fan.
School
High School should have been a great experience but I was too involved in music and the bad habits that get associated with it. Partying had a bad effect on my life and especially my school experience. Really wish it was a do over sometimes, I missed out on a lot, especially sports and social stuff.
Workplace
Started in Music Industry in 1975 and continued until 1988 as Asst. Vice President Special Products for Wherehouse Music in Torrance, California.
Remained in Consumer Electronics / Computer Accessories - Peripherals business. Beginning 1998 to 2008 was Vice President Sales for Memorex Products, Inc. Worlds leading supplier of CD-R and DVD media, also sell storage devices (CD-RW and DVD Drives, etc) and computer accessories products and had direct responsibility for over $100 million in annual sales plus global sourcing responsibility for Wal-Mart. In addition I was the brand manager for TDK and also for HP licensed products.
I was National Sales Manager for Case Logic, Napa Valley Box Co, and Alpha Enterprises. Owned manufacturers rep company Performance Sales & Marketing from 1992-1995. Worked as a Product Manager for Fellowes in Chicago.
I own Performance Sales and Marketing Inc and operate a leading internet retail operation for Circle Track related racing parts & accessories in the United States. The store is called Pitstopusa.com. I personally designed and built the site and run the day to day operations, design all trade and consumer advertising, etc. The company also operated a late model stock car racing team competing in NASCAR Southwest Series Tour and the SRL Wild West Shootout until 2002.
Seven years ago I returned to playing music professionally after relocating to the Boise area and currently play with two popular area bands in addition to shows with recording artists.
