Ed's Story

I was brought up on the far south side of Chicago (till after freshman year in high School), Then my parents moved to Arlington Heights. I went to High School out there and then went to Harper College for a couple of years. Then started working downtown Chicago though a work study program for IT (back then it was called Data Processing). I got married too young, back in 1976 and divorced in 1983. Then I was single till 1993. I am now widower since 2007. I was married to wonderful women for 15 years. I have one son that is married and lives close by (not to close :) ). I also have three grand kids (two girls and a grandson) that I just totally love. I am in the computer business, 1st on mainframes, UNIX and how on personal computers (servers) I worked at the Florsheim Shoe's for 28 years. , I moved along to an advertising firm for about 3 years , then on to the Bank for 3 years, Then working from home for Computer Science Corp for 2 years, Still with CSC but on the bench till they find something I enjoy the normal stuff, the outdoors, especially in the summer. But I like all seasons except when its bitter cold. For fun I outdoors cycling, canoeing, the water / the beach, picnics, going out with friends, walking, dancing to rock or slow jazz, the mountains, Snow skiing , camping (but not roughing it too much). For vacations, I like to go to Starved Rock, , the Dells area, take Caribbean cruises (been a while since i've done this), or just about anywhere, it's not always about the destination but about the person you're with! GO BEARS! My current age is 58 something . When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be dead. I was so completely wrong (gald about that!)
