Edith's Story
Life
After graduating from Trinity College in Hartford, CT, I worked in Boston for 4 years, then spent a year+ with my family in Doylestown working, saving money, and studying Mandarin, in preparation for a move to Shanghai, China, where my fiance (now husband) had moved to start a company. While there for 4 years, I worked as the accountant for United Airlines. It was an incredible experience of growth and seems surreal looking back at it all now. with our elderly Chinese teacher was particularly special and meaningful. We moved to San Francisco in '98 and have been living here since. I work part-time on corporate relocation projects and book-keeping for an elderly woman, as well as volunteer regularly at a pet shelter, where I bring the animals to a senior home and to afterschool programs at lower socio-economic schools in the city. I/we travel quite a bit to developing countries. Back on the homefront, I am fortunate in that my parents remain in Doylestown, so I still get to come "home" to an area and people I will always love.
