Edward's Story
Well, I've been asked to write something about myself. I've been living in Portland for over 30 years. My wife Anchalee and I have been married for over 28 years, and I have a stepson, Aroon, who is part owner of the Thai Fresh restaurant on 84th and Division in Portland. Five years ago my wife, who is Thai, went to Thailand and built a house for our retirement. While she was there she got deathly ill and had an MRI and other tests, but the doctor couldn't figure out what her problem was. So, her sister sneaked off and talked to a psychic and the psychic says that Anchalee walked through this dead lady's backyard and her ghost just wanted everybody to know she was still around and she wanted some respect. That meant an offering of 3 different curry stews and a water buffalo and a horse. So they made the 3 different kinds of stew and bought a toy horse and water buffalo and presented it on a small altar to the ghost and in a couple days Anchalee felt fine. As a matter of fact a woman was ax murdered on that property after she borrowed a motorcycle and smashed it up and refused to pay for repairs. My wife wanted to buy the house there. We went inside to check it out and there was still tuffs of hair stuck to the walls. So, now we got this house in northern Thailand that my wife had built, not on the ax murder property, just a little over 20 miles south of Chiang Rai. Right now my wife's sister, Ginda, and her husband Lek live there. Ginda wanted a dog, so she got a small dog and somebody gave her another dog and the dogs had 3 puppies. So there was 5 dogs and Ginda was afraid to give the puppies away because the neighbors like to eat dog. Now one of the puppies had 5 puppies and she promises to sell them to the pet store. Her husband, Lek, was sitting on the front porch having a little drink when somebody slapped him in the face. He looked around and there wasn't nobody there...Expand for more
. So. he got scared and went inside to lay down. He was lying there and he looks up and there was my mother in law standing at the foot of the bed. Well, she's been dead for several years. She tells him she didn't slap him. She's just there to bring good luck to the family. Then she disappears. Well, Lek, was so scared he starts crying and runs outside and tells everybody what happened. Well, Ginda says, " You know, I had a dream the other night. Mom came and said that if you don't quit drinking she says she's going to kill you." ...Really!!?...Lek runs off and borrows some money for a food offering at the temple to take the heat off, and goes on the wagon. Meanwhile, another sister, Sookganya, needed some money so she sold her two fish ponds to my wife. They needed maintenance before tilapia were added, so they hired a neighbor named Bing to run the water pumps all night to pump the ponds dry and to made sure nobody ran off with the pumps. Well, he was sitting there and this guy comes wandering up the path next to ponds. His face was covered in blood and Bing asks the guy, "what happened to you?"
The guy says he's after Tongsook, one of my wife's brother in laws, but the family's guardian angel won't let him never the house. At that moment Bing notices the guy with the bloody face has no feet and is just floating around. Bing starts screaming and tells the ghost to go away, and the apparition with the bloody face moves on down the path and disappears near some mango trees. Bing runs over to Sookganya's house and tells everybody what happened and quits. My sister in law Ginda, hears the front door open and close and the dogs are going nuts, and she sees and old woman lying on a bed in one of the bedrooms and she asks the lady if she needs any help and the old lady disappears....I plan to retire to Thailand in another years. I have a feeling that it may be interesting....
