Edwin's Story
Life
After graduating from University, I moved down here to Silicon Valley for a job in 1992. Eventually, I met a wonderful and spunky lady named Moneka, and we got married in 1999. Unfortunately, she passed away suddenly from a brain aneurysm. I was devastated for a while. I stayed on working for various software companies, and then the dot com bust happened in 2001. Still, I made out okay and kept my job, despite having many unemployed friends. Eventually, the economy turned around and I met Margaret. We got married quickly, and have been happy ever since.
We currently live in Redwood City, CA, and love sailing our 37-foot sailboat around on SF Bay. Other things I do for fun: play hockey (yeah, I'm still Canadian), cook, make and drink wine (California is great too!), sail, and travel.

School

College
Went to University of Waterloo in Waterloo, Ontario, for 5 years. I was involved in a co-op work/study program so I had about 2 years experience by the time I graduated with companies like Microsoft. I graduated with a joint degree in Computer Science and Psychology with the intention of going to grad school in cognitive science. But, I got sucked into the working world before I could do that. Now the working lifestyle is too addictive to leave for grad school!
Workplace
Moved to Silicon Valley (near San Francisco California) in 1992. I have worked for a string of Silicon Valley software companies, 2 of which went public while I was there. I lived the dot com boom! I didn't make much money from it though, but it was at least enough for a down payment on my condo. Currently, I am working for Yahoo! Inc. doing work to localize our software into other languages such as Japanese or German.
