Elaine's Story
Life
Ricky and I met in high school, but I was too shy to tell him how I felt. As it turns out, so was he. We became great friends and left it at that. We met 25 years later at WalMart and began dating. The rest, they say is history.
We have two Black Labs, Taz and Tess, both are spoiled rotten.
My Job
I love my job. I work for the City of Mobile. I am Help Desk Manager and manage the IT Help Desk for all the City Users. I do Graphic Design when needed. I also publish several newsletters for the city and one for an International IT Organization. Both allow me to be able to travel and meet new and interesting people. Ricky and I recently went to Belfast, Northern Ireland for a week. Had a wonderful time. I've also been all over tye USa, Canada, Scotland, England, Ireland and France. Hope to go back and and do some more sight seeing. I went to Nova Scotia in June on a mission trip to Atlantic City, Delaware and Pennyslvania for a conference.
Children
Together Ricky and I have 4 children and 12 grandchildren and 1 great grandson. Can't get much better than that. All are so special. Each in their own way. They bring such joy and laughter into our lives.
Church
We are active members of First Baptist Tillman's Corner where we both sing in the choir. Come visit sometimes. I promise you'll feel right at home.
School

azy but it was actually a front to cover my nervousness around people. School was the one place I felt like I belonged.

Workplace
I started out working at Colonel Dixie and went to 7-11 for a few years. I then went to Vanity Fair/Lee Jeans for 10 years and went back to college and worked on a degree. I completed my degree and took some time off. I used the skills I learned in work study at college and found a job teaching at the City of Mobile. I have such a versatile job that allows me to use my skills and talents to their best. I am very blessed.
Life in General
Life was not always easy for me in the beginning. Home life wasn't the Cleaver's but you give in or overcome. I chose to overcome and become a betyter person for it. I learned to reach out to others and help pull them up. In giving, I've received so many blessings. I am rich beyond belief.
Ricky
My precious Ricky is the feather in my cap. I can tell you up front that I don't deserve him but I don't take one secong with him for granted. He's such a special man and I'm honored to be his wife.
My only regret is that we weren't bolder when we were younger and spoken up. He was always such close friends. We could tell one another anything. But neither of us dared go past friendship. Why it took 25 years? Only God knows. We are making up for it now!
