Elaine's Story
This i s the second month of the final stage of my life - retirement. I taught for many years in Montessori schools, then I decided to open my one school and do it right. I love to see joy in children's eyes and I wanted to create such a school. Twenty-five years ago, I did just that. My school goes from 9 months to thirteen years and I love the place. It is located in Brampton and there are about four hundred fifty students
. Two years ago I added a large gym in memory of my son. Glenn die in 1999 whir driving home from the North. I will never forget him. He was a great kid of 20 years. I also had a beautiful daughter called Sheri. Sheri is an adrenalin junkie. She goes to the gym at least five times a week and her favourite job is being a volunteer firefighter in Caledon East. I am grandma to her beautiful children. They can do no wrong in granny;'s eyes.
Life has been a delight for me but hitting sixty-five has been a complete pain. I...Expand for more
n 2009 I had my first surgery - cataract surgery. I was a wreck and the doctor was grumpy. I got through the surgery successfully with no indication of any issues. All was well until there was an Easter Sunday phone call saying that there had been a problem. I was sent immediately to St Mikes hospital. I have been going there ever since. He had put in the wrong size lens and it broke all of the rods in my eye. My vision in the left eye is now 20 / 200. While St Mikes was doing corrective surgery my heart displayed some issues and I ended up having two stents put in my heart in the same place. What a thrill (ha Ha).
My husband Bill and I have been together for 46 years and continue being happy.
Some of you may remember that I drove competitively. Bill and I did this together for many years. I became Ontario Ladies Driving champion for five years. We sold our Lotus a few years ago. We expected Glenn to use it but that opportunity never arose
