Elaine's Story
After high school, I left Oregon and moved to Phoenix Arizona, then to So. California. I was there for about three years and then I went to Rhode Island where I met and married my husband Bob. We went back to California and lived in San Diego for eight years. Bob was a radioman in the Navy. He retired from the Navy in 1976. We moved to Priest River Idaho and stayed there for one year. We then moved to Dallas Texas where Bob had a job. We were there for one year when Bob got a job with RCA in Boise Idaho. We also lived in Coeurdalene and Spirit Lake Idaho. there about four and a half years, then Prescott Arizona for a couple years. Then Denver Colorado for a little over seven years. We then moved to Bigfork Montana where our daughter lives. We bought a house on Echo Lake and lived there for five years. In 2007, Bob was diagnosed with lung cancer. We sold our house and all our stuff and in between chemo treatments we traveled around the West in a 20 foot Chinook motor home we called the 'Pod'. We came back to Montana in April 2009. The treatments weren't working anymore and Bob died June 2, 2009. I live in Kalispell Montana now.
In May of this year, 2012, my daughter Darcy and I left the cold and snow of Montana and moved to Bisbee in So Arizona.
