Eleanor's Story
My name is Eleanor Jill Elliott and I attended Charlotte Lockhart Academy (under the name Jill Elliott) in Kennesaw GA, from 11th grade through graduation in June, 1999. There were 22 of us, I recall.
I continued my education at Agnes Scott College in Decatur, GA where I got my BA in English in 2003, followed by a MS in Communications from Georgia State University. After aquiring my late father's medical supply company in 2005 and overseeing its consolidation the following year, I continued working the same field (medical sales & service) until 2008, when McGraw-Hill & Co. hired me (and where I still work) as a copy chief. I have had a happy professional life turning alleys into allies, de-splicing commas, stifling passive voices, etc. Hundreds of death sentences have been commuted due to my endevours. Textbooks are, after all, written by retired professors and high school teachers. I now get paid for correcting the same people I had to correct as a student.

h being a student-in my mind-was time wasted. I am an introverted person. As a teenager I also was very shy. And I had an attitude problem, which I regret now. In 2014 I found unopened 1998 and 1999 Prom invitations while cleaning out my childhood closet. Only then did I wonder if Lockhart Class of 1999 had had a reunion, and seeing as it was a very small class of us, I assumed not.
In spite of my forgetting the prom, I had not forgotten my classmates. My mother told me about Classmates.com, and since I am not on Facebook, I looked it up and saw that the Lockhart Academy Class 1999 is on record. That record states my name as Eleanor at graduation. (It won't let me be Jill.) I still live in Marietta, where I was born on the same day in the same hospital as the former Jennifer Diemer (now Brown). When I was a Junior the outgoing Senior class Valedictorian left me the dishes in her will. And I did appreciate washing those dishes, Keri Borders.
My Senior will stated: "I, Jill Elliott, just leave." Attitude problem intact, regrettably.
