Elena's Story
After graduation I took a year off school, got a job working as a bookkeeper/junior accountant for about ten months. Went to post-secondary school at Portage in LLB and took University Studies. Went nowhere with that so I went back to work as a junior accountant again only instead of filling in as a temp for someone on maternity leave I was on a STEP program. I than took a program through NAIT and qualified to be an apprentice electrician. When that didn't pan out so well. (failed drug test forced me to lay off the scooby...Expand for more
snacks and look for a different profession) Went to work at 7-11 in Edmonton for a few months before moving home to EMS where I got AB works funding to go to school and get my certification as an educational assistant. Think I might have finally found my calling and it only took me roughly 5 years. In 3 weeks I'll be done my practicum and will have my level II educational assistant certificate. YES, I am still single, by choice, and still have no children, not by choice. More or less I am just trying to cut out a living.
