Elena's Story
I grew up at 1239 West 68 Street, L.A. I went to St. Rachael’s from K to 8. I have a very close friendship with 6 of my classmates, since kindergarten. After SRS one went to St. Mary’s Academy, one went to Hawthorne High, another to Alhambra High and 3 of us went to St.Michels High, we all graduated. We lost 2 of our friends in 2019. I am 73 now and I am a retired CA State government employee since 2015. I am a single retired mother. I have one child, a son, who married in 2017 at 49 and gained a huge exte...Expand for more
nded family. I now reside in Montebello, CA. I was born for retirement. A SRS memory: When I was 6, around 1954, some older kids would gather around me, on the playground at morning recess, and have me dance, the bebop, till the nuns found out and put an immediate STOP. I can still “cut a little rug”. Today I enjoy a little traveling, within the US, a few hobbies, enjoy Broadway plays, some concerts (I still love my oldies , Motown, jazz, and some Tony Bennet), gambling, and enjoying my new extended family.
