Elizabeth's Story

2009 UPDATE I'm on Facebook, so look me up! Brian's still out of the house, but living with his girlfriend now. The rest of the kids are growing like weeds still. LOL 2008 UPDATE The oldest, Brian, will be 19 yrs come the 8th of January. He's been moved out for months now, living with a friend in an apartment uptown and working at a local pizza joint. *sad face, "I miss my baby." He has a new GF, whom he'll be bringing by any day now. Justin turned 16 in August and enjoyed helping the neighbors plant over 100 trees on their land this past summer. He likes to spend his quiet time in his room reading and listening to music. Tim turned 15 in September and is looking forward to drivers training and another chance to ride his buddies four wheeler. His "calm time" is usually spent reading or sometimes drawing. Sammi, my "tomboy", just turned 14 on December 9th and is finally getting into "girlie" things - thank God! She still loves school and would much rather go than have vacations during the year. Brandon turns 13 this March and is still an army kinda guy. He loves to spend his free time creating elaborate war scenes with his army men, Lincoln Logs and Travis' Legos. Travis turned 9 back in July and still "loves his Legos more than anything else he owns". He said one day he's going to build a giant Lego house that tornadoes and hurricanes can't knock down. Ya never know, he just may do it. :) He spends an enormous amount of free time playing with them and coming up with new designs. I'd love to take him to Legoland in California one day. Catie, my youngest, will be 8 yrs old on the 4th of January (yes, 4 days before the oldest). My youngest little angel - what can I say. She's my little buddy that hardly leaves my side. She'd rather pal around and help mom than play with dolls or anything else she has (except when she's pretending to be a teacher, and her dolls and bears are the students). That clingy mommy time may change since I'm getting her a new bike this year - she loovvees riding. Unless of course I get myself a new one too. LOL After 9 years, my gorgeous and wonderful fiancé is still sweeping me off my feet and doing what he loves and is gre...Expand for more
at at - installing wireless Internet. I pray that one day, he'll see himself through my eyes, and open his own business because he deserves it. Reggie also bought me a gold membership to Classmates for Christmas this year so I could stay in touch with all of you. Big kisses to you honey! Mwuah! As for myself, I'm still doing what I was back in 2005 - just on a larger scale. I'm looking to start a few of my own businesses and praying it helps Michigan and her residents get back on their feet. 2005 I married back in '90', had 5 kids with with my first husband. Worked on and off for an adult foster care home during that time, a mile from home, so that was nice. Unfortunately I became widowed in '97' (heart attack). Got together with a friend sometime afterwards to whom I've been engaged to since '99'. We have two children together. I've got 7 wonderful kids now and three cats who think they're my kids. It's a little crazy around here, but I think that's what keeps me sane if that makes any sense. LOL I worked as an assistant manager of a retail store for three years back in '97' after Rick passed away, then made my way up to manger in '2000'. I lost my job in 2003 due to re-injuring my back and several mini strokes. Losing my job was a bittersweet event. On one hand I get to spend awesome time with the kids, but on the other, I still miss the rat race. Right now, Reggie, my fiance is working and I'm the one staying home with the kids. The youngest just turned 5 on Jan. 4th, so after she starts school in the new year, I may be entering back into the workforce. Not sure yet. The oldest is 17...YIKES! Close to leaving the nest. Boo Hoo Hoo, my baby... I've been writing and waiting for a publisher to pick up my children's books, no luck...yet. On the upside, I've had three poems published. Other then that I've just been kind of laid back and working with the writing groups I've been founding and some other community and personal projects as well. Side Note: Since I'm not a gold member yet, I unfortunately can not read who signed my 'guestbook'. Thank you so much for posting though, and when I do become a member, I'll finally be able to read them! *hugs
