Elizabeth's Story
Our parents joined St. Simeon Church in 1943 when mass was held in a quonset hut on Marshall Ave. near Washington Blvd. I also attended kindergarten on that property but we completed kindergarten in the basement of the two story red brick rectory on Bellwood Ave.; Sr. Hyacynth was my kindergarten and 5th grade teacher as well as the choir director. She may have also been 1st grade teacher. Second grade was Sr. Concepta, third was Sr. Amabilia, fouth was Sr. Rosal...Expand for more
ie, fifth - Sr. Hyacynth sixth I remember Sr. Rosalie , so not too sure. Seventh and eighth are a blank; need classmate help to fill in this blank. Although, I seem to remember Sr. Francis Borgia and Sr. Paul somewhere in the mix. Class of '58 was the first complete graduating class. I received all sacraments at St. Simeon including getting married there in 1970. So, there's no question, that attending the Alumni mass on November 17 was pretty important to me.
