Elizabeth's Story
I currently live "alone" with two dogs, a dozen chickens, 22 alpacas, and a llama on 22 acres outside of Macon, GA. My day job is as a clinical psychologist. I work with adults only and love working with older adults. Kids, nope, not gonna happen. I work with adults who are dealing with depression and anxiety mainly. I also do neuropsychological testing with adults that have had a medical issue and are concerned about changes in their thinking abilities. I have been working with Mercer University and taught two classes last year in their medical psychology doctoral program. Scared me to death the first few classes but I ended up enjoying it. I continue to have a practicum student working with me in the practice. Training someone else definitely keeps me on my toes.
I bought my first 4 alpacas five years ago. Craig's list is dangerous. Any camelid (llama or alpaca) that needs a home is a temptation. ...Expand for more
Mainly because I have been addicted to crocheting with yarn made from the fleece and need to supply my habit. I'm currently waiting for about 40 lbs of yarn made from the last shearing in March. That may last me a little while. Thus the need for more animals. LOL.
I recently joined a church nearby. They definitely march to a different drum. Like me. The organization is Unity and they are that. Unlike the other churches in the area, they accept and welcome everyone, regardless of race, sexual orientation, or other identities that may not be accepted by all. Love it!
I still like to travel though the farm keeps me pretty busy. I used to like camping but now that I live in the woods, I don't really see the point of sleeping in a tent when I can sleep in my own bed. Probably other interests but that's enough for now. Thank you for reading! Constructive procrastination over. Time to get some chores done!
