Life I worked for nearly 29 years as a design engineer, about 12 of those as a contractor, which took me to jobs in nearly every state. I met lots of wonderful people (some not so wonderful as well) and was able to see a great deal of this country that I otherwise would not have seen. Have beat most of the medical 'odds' given to me in 1998 after being involved in a serious auto accident. It's like being given a new lease on life, in fact, it's definitely been a new start in life after nearly nine years of debilitating pain and near death on more than one occasion and the inability to work or do much of anything for myself. I am enjoying each and every moment even though it has been a very big adjustment for me - miracles do happen and I am walking proof of that! I have returned to college the fall to 2007 begin a new career. I am studying respiratory therapy and gerontology at Weber State University and must say it has been quite a challenge after all these years; however, am doing very well and am registered for next semester - in fact, since the majority of my past credits transferred, I am over 2/3rd's of the way to a degree. I have three adult children living in the Portland OR area and have seven grandchildren, the youngest is nearly 16 months old and is very precious to me - have to say that he, Preston, is my favorite grandchild.
