Her research interests include the changing context of education and classroom practice, historical and contemporary studies of the impact of gender, the history of teachers and the education of highly able learners.I congratulate Professor Smyth on this important appointment, and I know that we will all benefit from the leadership, experience, and wisdom that she will bring to her new role in the School of Graduate Studies.
