Elizabeth's Story

Hi all!! I'm not sure how many of you will remember me, but I see a lot of names on this list that I remember. Some of you I only knew by name and sight. Some of you I remember with a smile, as I thought of you as friends. One of you I considered my best friend, but lost track of. I will be emailing soon. Let's see, i'm not so good at the short stories, in fact, as much as I liked Mr Berkabile as a teacher, English was my worst subject. LOL. I moved to Missouri after graduation. Met my husband on a blind date and married in 1986. He joined the Air Force in 1987. We lived in New Hampshire, Indiana, and Germany. Moved back to Missouri to spend the last 10 years at Whiteman AFB. He retired from the Air Force in Aug of 07 and is now driving a truck over the road. I finally decided to pursue some further education and graduated with an AAS in Computer Programming May 07. I am currently working for the IRS in Kansas City. We have 2 kids. A daughter, Laura is 16 and son, Nathaniel is 14. We adopted Laura at birth while living in Germany. Our son came to us at 4 1/2 as a foster child. We adopted him at 6 yrs old. I enjoy spending time with friends and family, going to movies and out for dinner. I am a HUGE Kansas City Chiefs fan!! I know, I know, we sucked big time this year, but we will get better I have no doubt. I have only been a fan of the sport and the Chiefs since 2006. I was brainwashed into it by my best friend. Thanks to him, I was able to go to most of the home games the first year and we went to the playoff game in Indy. Now I pay for half his season tickets and go to every game. Always the optimist, I'm looking forward to next season. That is basically my life since Schenley. I have often thought about the Schenley years, and wished nothing but the be...Expand for more
st for all of you. I don't remember having any problems there, except one. I don't remember her real name, but she went by Peanut. For some reason she didn't like me at first but by graduation we were friends. I don't remember how long ago I heard about it but I was very saddened when I heard she had passed away several years ago. Take care, and if you remember me and want to, feel free to leave me a message. I found my yearbook...LOL. So I can look you up if i need to.. Update: In the past year we have located, communicated with and met part of Laura's birth family. She has 1 older sister (19, that of course I already knew of), 2 younger sisters and another younger brother, in addition to many aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents. Also by her older sister, she has twin 1 yr old nephews. We have met older sister, grandmother, nephews, and a cousin in person when we went to Tucson. This summer we will go to Houston and meet her other siblings and her birth-mother. That was the biggest news... Also if you read this, say a few prayers for us please... 2012 is not starting out the best for my family. Finding out some deeper issues my son is dealing with as a result of being in foster care before we adopted him, Reactive Attachment Disorder. But I have high hopes that with proper therapy, and hard work, everything will work out and he will reach his full potential. We are also in the process of cleaning up after a fire at our house on Jan 16th, dealing with illness with other family members, helping a niece with car trouble get to college classes... AND it is the beginning of TAX season for me at the IRS... LOL... Lots of stuff to deal with right now, all prayers will be appreciated. Take care everyone, stay POSITIVE no matter what is thrown your way. And keep smiling. :-)
