Ellen's Story

Life Married Rick Heacock January 1986 and moved to California for 1 year. Came back to St. Louis May 1987 with twins. Joshua and Jacob turned 19yo in April 2006. Both in college. Also have a daughter. Emilee just turned 15yo March 2006 and learning to drive. So far great kids without issues. Since 9/2000 Rick and I have been buying homes to rehab and rent out. So far we have a total of 5 homes, 4 being rental property. It's a lot of work, but the financial rewards have been awesome. School Went to Meramec Community right after high school, but I guess I still needed to sow oats so I left in 1985 and got married. After the kids came, I started back to school in 1992 at Belleville Area College and SIU-Edw...Expand for more
ardsville for prereqs for nursing school and misc other classes to build toward a bachelors degree in nursing. Started Lutheran Medical Center-School of Nursing 1995 and graduated in 1997. What a trip. Rick was working out of town so I managed 3 kids, full time school and a full time job for about 5 years. Talk about time management skills! What a nightmare! Workplace After graduation I went to work at SouthPointe Hospital (used to be Lutheran Medical Center) floating between the ER and ICU. Left SouthPointe October 2000 to work for a staffing agency. I still love the critical care areas of ER & ICU and Tele (heart monitors) and I love it. No holidays, No weekends, No administration and the pays fabulous!
