Ellis "Jay"'s Story
After graduating from PGHS in summer 65-- Dad (who was Air Force) got transferred to the Pentagon. I went to George Mason College of the Univ. of Virginia--now George Mason Univ. After graduating Dad retired from the Air Force and I went into the Navy as an officer and Naval Aviator-- got my wings and flew in the F4 Phantom II. Got out after Vietnam and did a multiple number of things and jobs. Such as working in Saudi Arabia, Italy (Sicily) Spain and other places. Went into US Govt civil Service with the Naval Air Systems Command and transferred to Defense Information Systems Agency doing satellite communications. Retired after more than 30...Expand for more
+ years in civil Service and now work as a consultant with the Army in satellite and Wideband communications and electro-optics and night vision. Have 2 sons, 4 grandchildren who live in Virginia and Utah. Son #1 is a Lt.in with the Utah Highway Patrol was in A&E network on "Live PD".. Eldest grandson is in the AF and is a 1st Lt and flying in the F16. His wife is also a 1st Lt. and she flies the KC-135 tanker.. He'll flies fighters (like his granddad-(me) Margot (wife) is a retired GS-14) and I own a small ranch (1900 acres) in Texas where we'll retire. Health is good-- even have a trainer to help in bulking up. That's the short version.
