Elsie's Story
Life
In 1972 the day after graduation I moved to Chicago to live with my brother. Unfortunately I had to forego my UC grant and dreams of rooming with Mary Pat Mulvihill. I returned to Cincy and married Ken Hawkins from Amelia and divorced three years later. I was single for four years and worked at Kenner Products as an administrative asst.where I met my current husband, Steve Kraemer from La Salle. We bought a house in Anderson where but then we were transferred to Columbus. I lived in Columbus for 3 years and then we were transferred to San Diego, where Steve, an account was in charge of the start up of a General Mills branch in Tijuana, Mexico. We have been in San Diego now for 20 years, just 10 minutes from the border. Steve and I do not have any children. nd English. I worked for a local newspaper as a city reporter for several. Then I returned to school to obtain a teaching credential. I now teach high school English and am the journalism advisor for Monte Vista High School. I teach seniors, and I love my job. But schools are not like they use to be. This summer Steve and I will celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary and renew our vows on the Vendam, a cruise ship to Alaska. I keep in touch with Mary Pat Mulvihill, Nancy Jo O'Brian, and Mary Ann Reudeman, all have been out here to visit me over the years. My last visit to Cincy was in February 2003 when my mother died. Over the years I have been involved with hosting foreign exchange students and have "foster children" in France,Italy and Japan. One of these days (probably when I am retired) I'd like to write a book, the proverbial "best-selling novel"!
