Ember's Story

Hmmmmmm.....After graduation, I went to college at Carthage and then UW-Milwaukee. While at Milwaukee, Mom and Dad divorced. Mom moved back to MS and, after a few years,Dad moved to LA and then to MS. Thinking I had graduated, I moved to New Orleans in 1979. Moved back to Milwaukee in 1985 to finish my BA. Later, I received a Certificate in sign language interpreting and did that for 10-11 years, sometimes in combination with other jobs. In 1996, I began working on a master's in community counseling. Graduated in 1998 and have worked as a psychotherapist and case manager ever since. Mom died in 1988 in MS and Tim died in 1992 in Italy. Dad and Sid now live near Memphis, Mike lives with his wife and two children in Orlando and Chris live...Expand for more
s with his wife and two children in the Chicago area. For most of my adult life, I've had problems with sleep apnea and fibromyalgia; I began treatment for the apnea about 3 years ago and was diagnosed with fibromyalgia last year. Have been doing PT over the winter and that has helped substantially. I never married or had children and have few regrets about it. Still love to read, do artwork. Began swimming again as part of my therapy and have worked my way up from about 15 feet to 28 laps. If I can get to 36 laps, that will be a half mile. Another major fact in my life is that I converted to Judaism about 5 years ago. Currently I am studying Hebrew in preparation for my bat mitzvah this summer. Can't think of anything else right now.
