Emily's Story
Life
I am currently living in beautiful Oxnard with my boyfriend of 3ish years. After a brief (is four years brief?) stint at VC, I transferred to San Diego State, and received my BA in liberal studies. After graduation I returned to Ojai while getting my teaching credential from CSUN (Channel Islands Campus). My first student teaching experience was pretty interesting. I taught at Mira Monte (the school I attended from K-6) in a fourth grade class. My master teacher (whose class I was teaching in) was my own 5th grade teacher Ms. Comrack. Springs. I just felt it was time for a change, and the opportunity arose to teach there. I told myself that if I didnÂt like it I didnÂt have to stay. Needless to say, I lasted just 1 year. I soon found that the desert is weird place to live. The month before I moved out, my car was stolen and my downstairs neighbor was arrested for murder. I spent the next year subbing, and then I got my current job teaching kindergarten in south Oxnard. I just started my second year there. That more or less sums up the past 12 years (wow, 12 years!).
