Eric's Story
Life
After graduating from college in May, I moved temporarily to Virginia for summer work. This past August, I moved to Fairfield, CT for my current job. The area out here is absolutely great, and the people are wonderful.
I am currently still dating Jamie Booher from school. We celebrated our 1 year anniversary in September, and no... there are currently no plans for marriage.
Most of my life is spent at work, my days off typically consist of grocery shopping, laundry and sleeping, however, I cannot complain. On occasion, I will also go into NYC for the day since it is only a 1 hour train ride.
School
Well, I graduated from college, and I am not going on. No post-grad is instore for me. I loved college, but I had to get out of the academic setting. I still miss my friends from SAU, but I manage to keep in contact with most of them still. As for favorite experiences: I learned soo much in the theatre dept...Expand for more
., both by departmental shows and outside events, that I cannot choose one favorite. Every show that I worked on helped to bring me to my current job.
Workplace
I am currently working as the Production Stage Manager for the Downtown Cabaret Theatre in Bridgeport, CT. All of the Children's company shows are about 1 hour in length. They are written and directed by my boss, and are a twist on classic stories. We have anywhere from 4 to 16 performances over the course a week, on top of possibly rehearsing the next show in the evenings. Our season runs from early August to the end of May. In addition to the Children's Company, the Downtown Cabaret has a mainstage season the consists of 4 musicals over the course of the entire calendar year.
I do not yet know what I am going to do for the summer, but I suspect that I will be returning to the Ash Lawn Opera Festival in Charlottesville, VA as the Production Stage Manager.
