Eric's Story
I grew up on my grandfather's farm in Claremore, Oklahoma During high school, I began teaching myself piano and later guitar. I also played trombone in Claremore High School's jazz band. After leaving high school I joined the United States Army and the 82nd airborne division band playing the trombone for the Army Band. I was a paratrooper for 10 years and left the Army in 1996 because of some knee problems. Over the span of my10 year military career, I had the honor of playing for President Clinton, singing for General Gordon R. Sullivan, General Colin Powell, Lieutenant General Mike Steele and other national leaders including foreign dignitaries and ambassadors.I started a band called "The Natchez Trace" and began touring and opening for artists including Billy Ray Cyrus and Amie Comeaux. I've had the pleasure of opening a show at the Tulsa City Limits as a solo artist for the great Charlie Daniels Band as well. n national country music charts for "Fadin Fast" and "Honky Tonk Crazy." Another song I wrote entitled "This Love in My Heart" was recorded by "The PovertyNeck Hillbillies" in 2005. My album also includes songs like "Sweet Memories" written by Garth Brooks and my own "Leavin Line." Another honor I had was being asked to sing for the Virginia Slims, Legends of Women's Tennis; a group that included Pam Shriver, Billie Jean King and other tennis greats. I also led a USO show to the war-torn countries of Bosnia and Kosovo, entertaining our troops overseas. In July of 2003, I was also asked to be a special guest performer for a benefit show for the US Army in San Antonio TX-a show that included my idol-George Strait. I am happily married to my wife Bekah and we have 2 little girls, Ella and Katie. I still write music and help lead praise and worship at our church. I'm also in the process of starting a new band. We have relocated to Claremore, my hometown and I work full-time for the Post Office.
