Erin's Story

Life After graduating from college in 1999, I lived in Philly and Boston for a few years each, working as an RN in various hospitals. I met my husband Jon while on vacation in 2000, and we married in October 2002. In July of 2003 we left the East behind and moved to Seattle, WA where we lived for 2 years while I started courses towards a Masters degree (still working on it). We moved back to the greater Boston area in 2005 and just bought a house in Sharon in December 2006. Workplace I've worked a lot of places in the past seven years! I started out as a telemetry RN on 5C at Bryn Mawr Hospital in PA. It was a great place to learn (but very busy!), and I have the fondest memories of all my coworkers w...Expand for more
ho took me under their collective wing. I moved to Boston in 2001, and worked first on Farr 6 (the surgical tele floor) and then on MICU-A at Beth Israel Deaconess Med. Cntr. In August 2003 I moved to Seattle, WA and the MICU at Harborview Medical Center. I got my TNCC certification and CCRN while a staff member there and attended NTI for the first time. I moved back to the greater Boston area in 10/05 and worked as a traveling RN for a little over a year. I've just accepted a position in the MICU at Brigham and Women's Medical Center in Boston and am maintaining a per diem position at St. E's. I'm still working on a Masters in Nursing (most of the coursework done, but the thesis is still looming over me).
