Eugene's Story
Life
I am currently working for Hatch Energy in Hatch's Seattle Office, working on small hydroelectric projects in Alaska.
I have recently retired as a Director for the Northshore School District Board of Directors in Bothell, Washington. I remain an active member of the Libertarian Party, currently serving on the National LP Bylaws Committee.
I've been married to Rachel for more than fourteen years. I have two beautiful children by a previous marriage, and now, a granddaughter! Jasmine was born in October 2008. Jasmine's mother, Amy, graduated from the University of Washington with a major in environmental engineering, and now works in the Forestry Management unit for the Washington State Department of Nautral Resources. She is married to Greg Halgren. Her brother Brandon is assistant manager at a pizza place. Brandon is a kind, gentle soul with an artistic bent. Recently he has been studying ...Expand for more
the origins of religion, and posting some interesting U-Tube videos.
Rachel is Region 7 representative to the Libertarian Party National Committee, and Washington State Chairperson for the Libertarian Party.
I'm also very concerned about global warming, and follow the debate about it on RealClimate. Right-wing wackos tell us that global warming is just natural climate variation in the years when its getting warmer. In years when it gets cooler, they tell us global warming has been "disproved" or that its all "bunk" (or fill in your own favorite expression). Left-wing wackos think government is the solution to every problem, not understanding the extent to which government IS the problem. I am more inclined to believe what the preponderance of the climatologists tell me - and it isn't good news. Gettin' kind o' dry where you are? Warmer and wetter winters, like here in Washington? Stay tuned.
