Evelyn's Story
Life
After graduation I went to work for the airlines in different ground capacities before taking on a flight attendant position. Luckily I was based in New York, flying out of JFK to Europe and had great roommates who also were my fellow crew members. While in Europe I met my future husband who was stationed in Frankfurt, Germany at that time. A few years later I packed up by things in New York and moved to the west coast as we were now flying to the far east.
The long distance romance was rough so eventually I decided to get off the merry go round, married at St. Ignatius Loyola Church, my uncle father Tom doing the honors, moved to San Francisco and 3 years later had my daughter, Lisa.
Much later on, I married a TWA pilot, moved to Saudi Arabia and returned to the states just before my son, Jason was born. We settled in Las Vegas where I went on to get my real estate license. Enjoyed the work and pace for a few years and later accepted a position as marketing director in the medical field. Both husbands are since deceased.
I had spent some time in Mexico with the idea of relocating but due to ...Expand for more
the recent violence and uncertainty, decided to stay in the good old USA for a while.
Worked in the casino industry, first in wine tasting and then in the showroom and special events department of the Mirage. All in all it's was a "fun job", different but certainly never dull.
My daughter (who lives in NYC) has her own International Marketing & Research company, married and is the mother of 2 yr old twins. My son (who is here in Las Vegas) also works in the casino industry and is the father of a 6 yr. old..
I'm retired now but still enjoy traveling.I've spent some time in Costa Rica, Europe and more recently New York.I love desert living, miss the good old days and of course my friends back in New York.
Sadly my only sister "Ginny" passed away and in August of 2013 was laid to rest in Arlington National Cemetry. Mom, who has lived out here and was in a nursing home, died last February at the ripe old age of 95. Naturally, it was very hard loosing both of them in such a short period of time.
I look forward to hearing from my former classmates at both St. Iggys and St. Lawrence Academy. God Bless.
