Farrah's Story
Life
I am very much a family person. I lived at home until I moved out of state. After moving to SC in 2002 to live with my widowed aunt, I had a son born on 08-04-04. We have recently moved back to VA to be around more family and better opportunities. I am now looking for employment with emergency services and enjoying being at home with my son in the meantime.
School
In Kindergarten through 4th I attended Yorkshire Elementary in Manassas, VA. Fifth grade I was switched to Emmanuel Christian School, also in Manassas, for the sake of better school environment. The homework was rediculous so in 5th grade I was put back in public school at Parkside Elementary. Durring middle school I was at Parkside Middle until we moved to Stafford, VA. I then went to A. G. Wright and later to North Stafford High which I happily left in 1995!
College
After leaving high school I decided I had enough education. The following Spring...Expand for more
I attempted 2 classes at NOVA and after a couple weeks I remembered why I hated school. In 2003 I finally chose a career and went to Spartanburg Technical College for a semester to recieve my career certification. I am now taking other training courses through work and out of college.
Workplace
I started working at the age of 14 at a cleaners in Stafford, VA. Since then I have worked at a nursing home, retail store, hospitals, doctor's offices, urgent care facilities, day care, night club, medical transport company. Since then I have figured out what I want to do when I grow up (ha,ha!). I attended a semester of college and am now a licensed Emergency Medical Technician (EMT-B) . It took me until the age of 25 to find my place in life but it was well worth it. I love my job and wouldn't do anything else. The only thing better might be a flight medic on a rescue helicopter but I'm happy as a clam with my job for now!
