Fay Ainsworth:  

Life Fay (Suttles) Ainsworth is a lifelong waterfront resident of Browns Point and Lakota Beach. She attended Lakeland and Mirror Lake Elementary Schools, Lakota Jr High and graduated with honors from Federal Way High School in 1965. She later graduated from the University of Washington with a five year Batchelor of Fine Arts Degree in Graphic Design and Advertising. Following graduation, she was selected by Conte Nast Publishing to become a guest editor for Mademoiselle magazine in New York City. Afterwards she returned to Seattle where she spent twenty years as an internationally recognized book publishing executive in the outdoor recreation field. While working as Associate Publisher at Outdoor Empire Publishing in Seattle, she earned a Masters in Business Administration degree from City University. Purchasing, renovating and restoring an eclectic collection of vintage rental properties allowed Fay Ainsworth to retire at age 37 to pursue a lifelong dream. In 1984, she and her husband outfitted their 56 foot sailboat “Moonchild” and spent eight years exploring exotic countries as they sailed around the world. During the circumnavigation, they won several international sailing races including the Darwin, Australia to Bali, Indonesia yacht classic and Cruising World magazine’s Trans-Atlantic Rally for Cruisers.
