Floyd's Story
After High School I bumed around for almost a year and in April '71 I joined the Air Force, just days before my draft notice.
I was stationed at Lackland Air Force for Basic Training, Security Police School and Patroil Dog School. I was then stationed At Mather AFB in Rancho Cordova, Ca, just outside of Sacramento.
In June 1973 I was sent to Utapao RTNAB, Thailand where I Worked a Patrol Dog, Patroling the Base Permiter. I also went to Okanawa where I went to Marjauna Dog School and upon my return to Utapao I worked three different Narc dogs.
After Thailand I spent the last 9 months of Air Force in lower Michigan at Wurtzsmith AFB along the shore of Lake Huron. My first night in town I met a young lady and four months later we were married, we have been married 34 years now.
We have two children, David is 33 and has three lovely girls to include twins. Amberle is 25 and was born in Germany.
I went to Foothill and West...Expand for more
Valley Colleges and worked in the Forestry for a year before joining the Army. I was stationed in Germany twice for a total of 6 years and was in Desert Storm.
I got out of the Army in 1992 because of medical problems and drove an 18 wheeler coast to coast and Canada for 12 years. I am a member of the Million Mile Club, having driven 1.3 million accident free miles.
In august of 2004 I was recalled by the Army and spent 10 months in Iraq.
I live in the Upper Pennsula of Michigan about 120 miles north east of Green Bay Wi. Just a mile from Lake Michigan.
I am now retired and doing Home Remodeling to fill my time between building custom fishing rods and fishing the Great Lakes and the streams, rivers and small lakes.
Bought a Harley StreetBob last year(2010) and rode out to Ca. for a Family Reunion. I ride with The Patriot Guards now, a great group of people riding for those who were/are in the military service.
