Francine's Story

Life I live in Los Angeles with my husband Dane and my two sons Jeremy (17) and Ryan (14). After graduating from University of Texas in English Lit, I ended up in LA after working in the film industry in Dallas from 1985-87. I had a five year plan to gain some experience here and then head back to Austin, but this past February was my 20 year anniversary in LA. Since my kids were born, I've mostly focused on things at home, but have squeezed in a few years writing for a theater group and other types of freelance writing as well. oy. I also write fiction, poetry and screenplays. (Have not sold a screenplay but that is still a goal.) I have written some interviews with directors and articles for an independent film webzine in the past few years: greencine. I am about to self publish a book of poetry and short stories. What I like best about Los Angeles is the non humidity and the weather in general, the wide range of food/restaurants, the interesting mix of people, and the ocean. What I don't like is the traffic, traffic and more traffic. What I miss most about Texas is the feeling of wide open space, more parking places and larger lots for houses. I have a myspace profile: /scoutnboo and I am on facebook and linked in as well.
