Francis "Mac"'s Story
After graduation, I entered the real world. My father told me I knew everything, so off I went. I ended up in the US Marine Corps. I figured; a 2-year enlistment could not hurt anyone. As it turned out, 25-years later I retired. What a long, strange trip it was. I witnessed heaven on earth to death and destruction, and anything you can think of in between. We live in the best country in the world. For God, Country, Corps…
I am an avid motorcycle rider. I ride a Harley, but 2-wheels are 2-wheels. I ride all year long. I have logged in over 750,000 miles over many years. There are a several “Iron Butts” (a 1000 miles in 24-hours & 1500 miles in 36-hours) included which are always an adventure. It is the best way to travel across this great country (and in foreign lands).

s involved with veteran’s (and their families) issues. Rolling Thunder®, Inc. is the primary organization for me. There is a laundry list of other great organizations. I am presently in my 4th term as the Rolling Thunder President of Virginia Chapter 3.
“Dying for your country is not the worst thing that can happen; being forgotten is”
If you have participated in the Rolling Thunder®, Inc. POW/MIA Demonstration in Washington DC, over the Memorial Day weekend, since 1996, we have been in the same parking lot at the same time.
I still have a thing for the 1965 to 1968 Ford Mustang. It is nice to escape to the garage, crank up the radio, and wrench for a few hours.
Other than this, I cannot complain. I woke up this morning, put both feet on the floor, and drank a cup of coffee.. What else could you ask for?
