Francis's Story
After graduating from Saint Rita High School, I went on to earn my B.S.E.E from DeVry Institute of Technology. I worked in the computer service industry for the past 40 years with different computer companies such as Ampex Corporation, Data General and IBM. In 1973 I moved to Baton Rouge, Louisiana as a Senior Technical Service Engineer and worked on Ampex memory products connected to IBM main frame computers at LSU and NASA. In 1986 I was promoted to National Technical Support Engineer on Data General Computer products and was transferred to the Metro Atlanta area. The computer industry took a nose dive in 1995 and I was laid off. I went to IBM as a National Remote Technical Support Engineer...Expand for more
in the combined printer division and Point of Sales division. I retired from IBM in 2012.
In 1977 I married a Southern Bell from Louisiana. Delores and I have two daughters, Matina and Malissa. In June of 2013, our two daughters had a double wedding and we’re hoping to be grandparents in February, 2015. Our daughters are math teachers. One teaches eight grade and accelerated Math and the other teaches high school Math. My wife is a retired eight grade Language Arts teacher. My wife and I like to take driving trips that take us to beaches, mountains and casinos. We also like to cruise to the Caribbean islands and Central America as Gold cruise members. An Alaskan cruise in on our bucket list.
