Frank (Mike)'s Story

Life "Old and in the way" like an Old dog on the stray, they never care about you when your "Old and in the way" (Jerry Garcia band)1973. Anybody else feeling this way? Anyways joined the army in 1974 (judge Kramer's wish, Arl Va) did my time then spent till the end of the 70"s traveling this great country of ours, saw almost all of it. Spent lots of time in Europe and the Netherlands(great place liberal Holland) Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, N Italy, then returned to the DC area by the early 90"s,Got married and moved to the great state of pennsyltucky, got divorced in 2001 and have been tied here because of my children raising them jointly as a single dad ever since. I have two beautiful daughters sharing my life, and living in the rural boonies of the central Susquehanna valley, it has its rewards,(snore) but now just waiting for college age to get my children out of the house, and on their own. Yikes I'll be sixty when that happens!! Anyways thirty some years later I have some regrets (don"t we all) yet life has a way of coming full circle, and the good outweighs the bad by a bunch, and I'm grateful to have made it this far in this thing we call life, so if you are reading all this you must have known me at some point during the late 60's to mid 70's so this is whats been up with Old Frank(mike)Browne, and would love to here from any of you old farts if the notion moves ya, stay sane, stay healthy, and most of all dont forget the ones you grew up with ,reach out and re connect because in another 30 yrs most if not all of (our generation) will be gone and no one will be left to tell the tale, and Oh what a tale it was! Peace out to all my brothers and sisters who lived the 60's and 70's like we were all immortal, and could change the world, and in doing so, changed the lives of the people around us. Frank (mike) Browne 10/29/2007 School MY BIGGEST CRUSH (I"VE HAD LOTS). Some of you knew it, some did not, Hey Bobby Bollinger remember Joyce Markon. ha!ha! that made me strong. The list included Janet & Debbie Bell, Kenmore Jr H/S,Wash&Lee & Wakefield High, Katie Ailstock from Peyton Randolph Elementary,(my first crush in 4th grade) Cheryl Siderakis,(1st broken heart), Toni Nixon, Kitty Evans, Linda Anderson, Sherry Haynes, and Kimberly June Nutter (my first teen love) at Four Mile Run apts, Cheryl,Nancy,Patti, and Neddy (THE HIGHLAND STREET GANG) of N.Arlington,You girls were the most fun to hang out and party with! I truly miss my sisters in youth, and think of them often over the last 35 yrs. Now the stuff That got us all in trouble at some point, John Potter ,Danny(muchie)Kidwell, Scotty Haynes, and Kenny Hayes, EGGS, EGGS, EGGS at cars from under the FOUR MILE RUN bridge, "Scotty" shame on you for telling on us ! Danny Kidwell (my best friend)and his 350 Vega that kicked butt on the street, and took us to school and work at Merchant tire store #1 at Lee Hwy and Key bridge, and the Merchant firestone store at Tysons Corner. Steve Girrard and his 70 Chevelle SS, and his wife Patti's 63 Vette! and all the late night step sitting on George Mason Drive. Jackie Dwyier and the Vomit comet and the trips to Ocean city, and Danny's parents cottage on the potomac river near Colonial Beach . Anyone remember the man hole cover in the back of Wakefield we used for lots of underground parties and a place to crash, or just hide out when skipping class?,Wow lot...Expand for more
s of lost brain cells since then? Anyone remember the Datsun B-210 station wagon that we wrecked while skipping school up by Kathy Dooleys house, I was one of the eight guys in that thing when it wrecked, and good thing no one got really hurt! Hey Henry Rivera! in front of the cafeteria, Whats up with that? I'm old and a bit tired Now, passing the half Century mark, sure would like to do it all over again, If only we could! Last but not least all the times we snuck into the Wakefield football games through the sewers of Four Mile Run and George mason drive! I GUESS I OWE THE SCHOOL LOTS OF TICKET MONEY......................??? IT,S BEEN A WILD RIDE AND SEEMS TO ONLY GET BETTER WITH TIME AND AGE, SO ENJOY THE GOOD, FORGET THE BAD, AND BE TRUE TO YOURSELF, AND BELIEVE WE MADE A DIFFERENCE BECAUSE WE REALLY DID!!!! College GED US ARMY WASH D.C 1974 THREE SEMESTERS OF MUSIC THEORY(wanna be musician)AT GEORGE MASON IN FAIRFAX. YEAH RIGHT !! ME FOUR YEARS OF COLLEGE !! THE SCHOOL OF LIFE HAS TAUGHT ME MORE THAN ANY COLLEGE COULD!!! Workplace started bumming around after the army (corp of engineers) in 1976. went to the oilfields of Louisiana south of new Orleans and spent a year and a half getting dirty and oily for J.Paul. Getty oil Co, then ventured off out into the gulf of Mexico working on a shrimp boat (bubba gump was not there!) out of Stock Island in Key West Fla for two seasons. Almost didn't make it back one time from the sea, so left that soon after, then spent time in Houston Texas using my construction experience to pave the parking lots of Galveston city beaches (concrete with grass, called grasscrete) and the beginnings of colored textured concrete i.e fake cobblestone etc. Returned to Va for a few months then went off to Europe (see life bio). Returned to the states and started working at a career in the mineral/mining industry(quarry/asphalt which I did for 7 Yrs, running a then state of the art cedar rapids 500tph counter-flow asphalt drum plant. long hours, and fair pay,+ high stress took a toll on my health, so as of this posting, I've Invented a product with a partner, filed a patent, trade marked it, and now manufacture and market the product under the name "E-Seam" Drywall Joining System, a product for the interior drywall industry. My company name is Edward Michael Enterprises (partnership) founded in 2005, and we sell our product to the Modular Housing industry. Hope this one allows me to chill these old bones, and drink heavily at the tiki bar!!!! (update 01/2007) Have started to expand distribution of E-SEAM, so look out for IPO stock offers in the future.lol's YEAH I KNOW I CANT SPELL THAT WELL, MY ENGLISH TEACHER WOULD NOT BE PROUD... DA, DA, DA,-THATS ALL FOLKS. Update (June 2009) I sold out and took the money from my patent invention, so i have now officially retired from the workforce, and just in time as health issues required me to live the leisure life from here on! Retirement ain't so bad if you know how to enjoy it! And i'm doing my best to really enjoy it while the getting is good! Update May 2016 well still here , still kickin it and still retired so that's all folks! Military This part of my life is private and can be filled in when a reunion or meeting takes place in person.the era of vietnam still haunts me to this day and opened my eyes to the irony of politics and the true meaning of plausable deniability!!!
