Frank (Skip)'s Story
Due to a slight misunderstanding I never completed 12th grade in St A's. I did manage to complete 11 years 5months. Actually I did my last three months at South High, a big disappointment for my family. Anyway, I joined the U. S. Navy in June of 1962. I served for 26 years, became exposed to Agent Orange while on riverboat duty in Vietnam. After retirement from the Navy, I served for 16 years for the Department of Veterans Affairs. By that time my Agent Orange really started to beat me up. Four years ago I had a stroke from which I recovered completely. Two years ago I actually died in my wife's arms. Medics were able to slap me with the paddles and they got my heart beating. I figure that God didn't want me and Satan wouldn't have me. Cut to the chase, I spent the month of March on life support. eart stents when Mercy Hospital pulled all the tubes and wires out of me. I made a complete recovery although I'm still 100% disabled because of conditions connected to my Agent Orange. I'm lucky though, I still managed to serve my country for 42 years. I've been married to my wife for 47 years. We've been blessed with 3 children and 11 grandchildren (+ a new great grand baby). My son followed me into the military, we lost him about 7 years ago. My wife Barbara Lee is from Mt Washington , her maiden name was Longdon. I guess that's about I have to share. Actually I have been around the world about three times and could fill a book with stories, but I'll close here. Good chance you won't remember me.
