In 1988 I married Corinne Ramsby who was originally from Chicago. Joining my two daughters, she brought a son and daughter into our family. We have lived happily at our Irving home place for 16 years. I retired from LTV as and engineer after 38 years. Retirement has brought us years of travel. Workplace
What a great career I had in the Aircraft Business. The Company I worked for was Chance Vought, Temco, then Ling Temco, then Ling-Temco-Vought and finally LTV from which I retired after 38 years. I had a very interesting and fruitful career as a Manufacturing Engineer, working with Design Engineering during the Aircraft design stage. Then implemented the tooling and manufacturing plans and followed the product progress through both those activities until delivery to the customer. I was envolved in programs such as the 747, 767, 757, DC-10, S3a, B-1, B-2 and lesser other programs. Mostly I enjoyed and was happy with my work.
Military
My school buddy, Fred Nichols volunteered for Hospital Corps School in the United States Navy in 1946. We attended Corps School at Balboa Naval Hospital in San Diego, Ca. Fred was sent to Pensacola, Fla. I went to Memphis, Tenn. Naval Hospital for a few months and then was transfered to the Naval Hospital in Houston just as it was being comissioned. I pulled duty there for two years. It was very nice duty, mostly emergency room duty with a month or two of service in dirty surgery. Houston was a great duty town. I was discharged January 8, 1948.
