Fred's Story
I lived on 35 Thetis Cres from 1975 to 1979. I made a big decision in my young life at that time and went John Stubbs Elementary and life was never the same ever since..lol. My teachers were Mr Tyler, Mr Peach, Mr Urchison and my favorite teacher to get detentions with was Miss Robinson and I made sure that I was in trouble at least once a week when Miss Robinson was around. My friends in school was Chris Morrell, David Tyler, Eric Aslet, Todd Albers, Steve Moser, George and I think his last name is Pederson or Peterson, Ken Anderson, Eric Ramsey, Scott Carlison and I can't forget my good buddy Mike Rochford. My first slow dance ever was with Erin Ovens and my second slow dance ever was with Cindy Sato.
I was sad to hear that they torn down the old school and built a new one where the sports field was. I would like to say that the sports field made a lot of great atheletes and it was where I learned how to play soccer, golf and where I ran in track and field plus, jog with my dad around the field at night.
I'll be heading out with my girls to BC next summer 2010 to visit my parents who live in Comox and one of the places I'll be visiting is Belmont Park.
