I also appeared in a community theater production of "Dracula" during my freshman year at George Mason, this time playing Renfield's attendant, a low-comedy Cockney character.
After graduating from Virginia Commonwealth University with a BFA in Drama Education, I went into radio as a reporter/newscaster; then to TV as a reporter/anchor/assignment editor. I served a five-year stretch on Capitol Hill as a congressional press secretary, then s...Expand for more
erved as executive director of the nation's first citizen-supported lobby supporting the exploration and development of outer space.
Then I worked at a PR agency, followed by 15 years in the nonprofit world, mostly in healthcare communication.
For more than 20 years, I have worked part time as an adjunct professor for the University of Maryland, American University, Georgetown and Johns Hopkins University. I am currently an Adjunct Assistant Professor for the University of Maryland University College, teaching an online course in Public Relations Theory. My wife and I are retired and living in North Carolina with our three rescue cats, Abigail, Anastasia and Prudence.
