Gail's Story
I've been a registered nurse for almost 40 years, after graduating in 1972 from St. John's Episcopal Hospital School of Nursing, Brooklyn, New York. We lived in Glen Cove in 1972 and I worked at the Community Hospital there in ICU.
We had the terrific opportunity to move to beautiful Delaware in 1980, so that's where the three little ones, born in NY, all grew up. I joined the Medical Center of Delaware, which became the Christiana Care Health System, specializing in Obstetrics (L&D) and Maternal-Fetal Medicine Clinical Research. I have two boys and one girl, all in their 30's. The eldest made me the grandmother of a gorgeous little (ha - 10.5 pounds!), now 8 year old grandson, a beautiful 11 lb. granddaughter in 2009, and an 8lb 12 oz grandson in 2011!

gland in April, 2007. Now I have a Bachelors degree (2009) in midwifery from Canterbury Christ Church University and am actually catching babies myself, for a change! I'm having the time of my life living in the South East of this gorgeous country, the Motherland. But, with missing my grandkids so much, and only seeing them a couple of times a year, I'm thinking of moving back to the States sometime this year, 2011.
I'm still a Beatlemaniac and Macca-lover, and really enjoy exploring Liverpool (and the rest of England, too!), the birthplace of my grandmother on me Dad's side. I love being in London with friends as often as possible. Really enjoy castles, cathedrals, museums, moors, incredible beaches, and photography, too.
Couldn't make the 40th high school reunion of 08, being so far away, but would love to hear from any old friends out there!
Cheers,
Gail (Buxton) Smith in Kent, UK
