Gary's Story

I drove by “St. George’s” for the first time in five years a few weeks ago. It’s all gone now. Yes, I knew the church was torn down in the 90’s, but now the rectory and convent are gone, too. My life has taken me on a journey that’s much different than anything I could have imagined sitting in a classroom on Lituanica Ave. or a few years later at St. Ignatius. I've been living overseas for the past 5+ years. Currently, I'm in Istanbul, Turkey, where I work as the Chief Marketing Officer for TeliaSonera, a large European mobile company that owns operations in eight countries (mostly the former Soviet Union and Southeast Asia). Prior to heading off overseas, I spent six years with Revenue Storm...Expand for more
, an international consulting firm focusing on Sales and Marketing that I co-founded. Mid-way through my time at the Art Institute, I headed off to Paris where I worked as a photojournalist and happened to land an assignment to capture the fall of the Berlin Wall in November, 1989. All this despite my dismal efforts to learn French back at St. Ignatius. Something must have stuck, because even today I can function in French, as I get to travel there frequently for work and pleasure. I moved to Boston in 2003, where I met my wife. No children, yet. eW would like to finish up with our adventures abroad before settling down. If you'd like to connect, google my name to get to my website or use LinkedIn.
