Renee's Story
Life
My Spouse
Gary and I met and began dating while we were attending Columbia Adventist Academy, a boarding high school.
My Pets
Sophie is our 4 year old Miniature Schnauzer who is more like a baby than a pet. Our two cats are brothers, Dusty, who is a long haired black mixed breed, and his brother Piewacket, who looks just like him, except is short haired. (Piewacket was the name of Kim Novak's "familiar" in the movie Bell, Book, And Candle.)
My Kids
Our oldest daughter, Shelley (29) has been married for almost 10 years, and had her first child (a boy, Gannon) in June, 2002. Our youngest child, Katie Jo (23) made us the grandparents of an adorable boy on May 6, 2002. Katie is single, and we have purchased the house next door to ours where she and Brennan live.
My Job
Gary and I took over his family business in 2000 when his parents officially retired. We now operate Ruud's Jewelers with the help of our oldest daughter, Shelley, who has worked here since she was a sophomore in high school. Before that, I was a nurse for several years. In 2002 I "retire...Expand for more
d" from the job I had for 20 years keeping books for a private school, and I also am a sign language interpreter.
I recently (in 2004) started a job as a Pharm Tech at Haggen's Food and Pharmacy in Oregon City. I am lucky enough to have one of my best friends as my boss. He and I worked together when I was working as a nurse, and he was the Pharmacist associated with the care center where I worked. I truly enjoy working in this field.
My Interests: Our most recent passion is Square/Round Dancing. We're very involved in our Club, River City Dancers, in Milwaukie, Oregon. I also enjoy singing (have sung with a girlfriend for 22 years in duets, trios and quartets; currently a quartet called 4Praise), sewing, using my spinning wheel to make yarn from a variety of fibers, knitting, crocheting and gardening.
One of my best friends in High School was named Chuck - I can't remember his last name. He married a girl from Yacolt (I think her name was Theresa) Last I knew he was living in Vancouver, WA. I'd love to find out where he's at, and what he's doing these days!
