Gary's Story
Life
I was born in Detroit and lived on Florida Street. I attended Priest School until the Spring of 1970 when my father passed away. I would have attended Munger and Chadsey if my father had not passed away. He worked at the River Rouge plant. We moved to Corbin, Kentucky in 1970 where I attended Felts, Lily and Laurel County High School. I got saved at 16 years old, which has been the greatest thing to ever happen to me. I remember the Detroit riots of 1967 and the Tigers winning the World Series in 1968. I played football, basketball and baseball in school. My favorite subjects in school were math, science, math, history and math. I have four teaching degrees and have a Master of Science ...Expand for more
Degree from Eastern Kentucky University and hold a Rank I teaching certificate for 9-12. I have been married to Earlene Snyder for over 28 years and have two children: Chris and Stephanie and one grand-daughter Celika. I still attend Dorthae Pentecostal Church where I got saved and work in the Gideon Ministry. I have been a Scoutmaster with the Boy Scouts of America and now serve on the Mountain Laurel District Eagle Review Committee. I have also served as a VICA Advisor. I am now entering my 19th year as a teacher. I am presently a Professor of Engineering Technology at Southeast Kentucky Community & Technical College. My mom passed away last year which has made for a hard and difficult year.
