Gayle's Story

My Life I taught school for 37 years..as Gayle Freeman/Perkins, then back to my maiden name England. I continue to use my birth name today...Gayle England. In 2000, I married a wonderful man (an Engineer & 'gearhead') Pete Norling whose hobbies are building streetrods and riding his motorcycle. His current project is a 1940 2 dr. Packard. He is also an Elder in our church. After 37 years in Education (TX, KY, FL), I retired in 2006. My main interests are my two darling dog-daughters, reading, church, and making greeting cards. In 2013-2015, I sang in a doowop quartet. We had so much fun singing songs from our youth! UPDATE: My sweet husband passed away on Feb. 3, 2016 after a valiant 9 year battle with cancer. He was brave, always faithful to the Lord, and never complained. I miss him so much!! I would like to hear from friends. I have taught in Booker, TX, Louisville, KY, St. Petersburg, FL, and Ft. Myers, FL...1969-2006...37 years!! Now I am happily retired and just as busy as ever.. STORY WIZARD: The people from my past who I'd most like to see again are Momma & Daddy, because I am wiser now, I know them better and have a high appreciation for what they taught me. If I won $100 million, I'd ...Expand for more
give some of it to my church. I'd also set-up education accounts for deserving children. I love animals and would give greater support to animal rescue organizations. I'd remodel our home, making the kitchen and great room much larger. I would add a covered parking spot for 3 vehicles also. I shared my home with my awesome husband Pete until his death 2/3/16 and our two precious fur-daughters Cassie and Hilde. My sweet husband fought a heroic battle with cancer. He was courageous, positive, and had great faith in God. Thank you, dear friends, for your prayers for me! Now I love with my children, my precious dogs Cassie Marie, Dinkey Lea, and Teddy Bear Stuff. My best friends would tell you I'm happy, faithful to God, loyal, outrageous, and fun-loving, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as reserved and friendly. My first job was at the college in Goodwell, OK where I got paid 15 cents/hr. to work in the snack bar. What I remember most about it is I worked with my Granny Griggs and learned to give correct change. My best year in school was my Senior year at Texhoma High School, Texhoma, Oklahoma. I consider this class to be the most awesome anywhere! I love these people.
