gene's Story
After high school I went to Brazil for a wonderful year, then came back to the USA and jumped into the 60s. That lasted through about 1982. M y excesses never kept me from getting great jobs but they cost me a few, including the one that I was born to do. Eventually I got and stayed married and got and stayed responsible, had 5 kids with my wonderful wife, got a doctorate and became a professor. Still married (to the same wife) 35 years later, kids all grown and fine though with us...Expand for more
ual mishaps along the way, still a professor and still responsible, though I think it's about time to kick off my braces again. One of my younger cousins was talking about her son going to art school and said, "If you can't follow your dreams when you're 18, then when can you?" and I thought, "Well, how about when you're 68 and have spent the past 35 years putting yours aside in order to make other peoples possible." I mean, we're all pretty much at the point of "if not now, when?"
