Life
When I left High school I entered Purdue University. In December of 1969 I joined Seymour's National Guard unit. I became a platoon sergeant in the National Guard and served until 1976. During this time, I got married to Marcia Fisher in 1972, a SHS literature teacher. I worked my way through my college school years at the Seymour Water Company and Harley Bag. Marcia and I celebrated our 35th wedding anniversary in 2007. She is a great wife who has taken all the moves in my career in stride. We never had time for kids. We do keep in contact with a few Seymour people and like to visit Seymour.

Fort Ord would have been OK had it not been for the rain and basic training. Sgt. Pettaway in AIT was a real trip too; He took about twenty pounds off me from all the running. Being in the Guard with high school friends was helpful and stressful at the same time. There was some fun on bivouacs until my jeep was stolen. I had some really bad hangovers too, because my friends kept me out too late.
