George's Story
Man, where do I start, Well, I married Debbie (Mavilio). We've been in wedded bliss for the past thirty years. We have two beautiful young ladies. Kristin is 24, graduated from Bryant University in accounting. She is a lot like Debbie. Erin is 20 and a junior at Southern New Hampshire University and is me. Debbie works at the VA at West Roxbury and I am a store Manager For Burlington Coat Factory in Woonsocket RI. We live in Easton,ma. I still get up to the old sod, my brother bought the house we grew up in on Chestnut st. Boy has Everett changed. I still have a love for sports , attending any games possible, even sandlot. I still love "OUR" Music and love going to concerts that I can Remember and sing to, ie Paul McCartney, Stevie Wonder, The Eagles, Bruce, Buffet and yes Barry Manilo. I still love to laugh and have fun. As I get older I keep thinking that what a blast we had as kids. We were always outside playing sports or just hanging out not like kids today glued to a game boy. ...Expand for more
Remember playing Street Hockey , Box Ball, Tackle Football in the snow AAHHH, those were the days. How about buying a sub for a quarter at Angelina's.
Huh, seems like yesterday, we were in Steve Daisy's class playing whist, oops I mean studying Latin, and he would lock the door and say , In case of a raid, turn to Ceaser conquers the Helvetians. How about the Protests to abolish the Dress code, remember String Ties? How about Skate boards - Who is Tony Hawk? We used to split a metal skate , nail it to a piece of wood and roll down Chestnut St., praying you could cross Ferry St.
We used to ride our bikes all over the city, kids today need a ride. Remember Grants & Gorins? How about the Park Theater, ever win a dish? How about the Bowling allie above Tony Ventura's original sporting goods store and the building burnt down?
Funny how we have become our parents. Back then I never thought it would be possible. Back then wearing bell bottoms and mocasins now wearing a shirt and tie.
