Life My father was in the USAF. I attended first grade at Otis AFB. Then he was transfered to Tachikawa AFB from 1959-1962. I attended Tachikawa Annex Elementary School. Before we moved on base there was a gate near the school where we walked off base where we lived. My father was transfered to Laredo AFB in 1963. I attended elementary school right near the main gate. We lived on Travis? Street. Then we moved to DelMar Hills and I attended Nye Elementary School and then to United High School which is now United Junior High School. I remember that the classrooms were underground. From there my father was transfered to Barksdale AFB in 1964 where I attended Rusheon Junior High School. Then we moved again to Hurlburt Field where we lived at #1 Pine Street until 1968 when my father was transfered to Udorn AFB in Thailand. My mother and I moved off base and lived on Oleander Drive in Mary Esther. My father was KIA in Loas in 1969 and is buried in Arlington National Cemetery in Washington DC.
