George's Story
Left South Hempstead for Charlottesville, Virginia and the University of Virginia business school. Played a C.P.A. and lived in Washington, D.C. for a few years. Returned to God's Country to attend the U. Va. Law School and continue to go to mixers. Moved to Manhattan and lost my soul at a Wall Street firm that collapsed under the weight of its own prestige and leverage. Went in-house and numbed my mind at Prudential Insurance where I thought of taking out an insurance policy in case I died of boredom. Left to go to PepsiCo and wound up feeling the same except more caffeinated. Left to join Arthur Andersen in time to observe its collapse first hand. Along the way, I eloped, put my wife through law school and then she ruined my investment by proceeding to have 5 kids. Our fifth boy was born on May 5, 2005 at 5:55. We were celebrities for a weekend and made the papers and TV for having the 5/5/5 baby. The five references are numerous but the number hasn't paid off in the lottery yet. Unfortunately, taking care of 5 kids and managing a high stress career put an end to our marriage, so now I'm adjusting to life on my own again.
I've hiked, skied or backpacked through all of the U.S. and most of Canada, Europe and the Caribbean. I wanted to go to our 10 year reunion but was visiting the pyramids at the time. I just got back from taking the family on a 9 state, 12 national park tour of the west.
