George's Story

My first post on this site is going to be one big Apology! I carried a lot of confusion and anger throughout my time at Lithopolis Elementary and then through high school. I had an older sister who passed away at 14 from leukemia and I never processed it properly; you know, the proverbial keep it all boxed up inside and let it go at inappropriate times. Well, that was me... Thus, I owe countless apologies for much of my behavior. I am truly sorry. And believe it or not, prior to moving to the area, our previous houses were extremely well kept. So, it is quite apparent that the parents never processed it well either...before moving to "the shack." Thankfully, throughout my time in this school district I had many, many angels looking out for me...and t...Expand for more
hey showed up mostly through those around me. When I needed support, kids were there; when I needed my butt kicked, kids were there; when I needed guidance, oh yes teachers were there. In high school good ol' Tom Petty and Marlo Mills were so instrumental in keeping me grounded, sometimes literally; Marlo would grab my ear, or squeeze my shoulder until I dropped to the ground. Laughing now, definitely not then! But, without that corrective guidance, which wouldn't make it 5 minutes in today's schools, who knows how off track I would have gone. I understand not everyone can say this, but I loved and still cherish the time at Bloom Carroll. Only wish I had been more mature for everyone. Again...I am truly sorry if I was disrespectful to you in any way.
